I have never been camping. Yes...Living on the Spit is more of a Southern Belle who wants to be a Country Girl.......There, I said it. Whew, I am glad that it's out...it feels so good to be free.
Hard Working Man and I are leaving at the crack of dawn to go up to the country to attend (a) Pancake Breakfast (Yum) and (b) Party at The Property...a huge soiree being hosted by Big Hair Envy and Cool Breeze where there will be two bands, barbecue, huge amounts of fun, and frosty, cold beverages. BHE and her hubs, graciously have provided the use of their tent for us to stay in while we are there. I am SO excited. I am also scared...terrified actually.
This experience will be the judge of whether (a) Hard Working Man and I EVER go camping again and (b) whether Hard Working Man and I could actually make it as a married couple. This is it people...do or die time. What will it be like? Will I survive? Will Hard Working Man just roll his eyes when he sees the stuff I want crammed into the car?
Knowing Big Hair E, the way I do...I am sure I will be just fine. She understands me and gets what I am about. I will also have Noe Noe there to smack me back into reality and laugh at my silly antics. Momx2 will also be there!!! She may regret being so excited about meeting me.
I am calling this weekend, The Pre-Blogfest Happy Hour.

So, because I have NEVER been camping before and because I have a VERY vivid imagination, is this what I will find upon our arrival to The Property?
or this....
or maybe this...

Just let me live in denial...it is much better that way. At least in my mind.

GOOD LUCK!!! Remember the best thing about camping is eating s'mores and sitting around the campfire (provided the weather is nice and there are no bugs).
You crack me up! This will be a test of life in the country!
See ya in the morning Belle!
Those pictures are beautiful! If that's what you get, then I'm calling BHE myself. :)
Have a great time! Don't forget the mosquito spray! :) Oh.. and laugh some for me.
When you see the tent...just keep telling yourself that it's all about the people. have a blast and just know how jealous I am!
Yep - that's it. You will be in one of those wonderful "tents" on a platform. And you will, no doubt, have running water and a potty attached. And someone with a fan will wave it over you to keep you cool. And someone else will be there to swat the bugs.
Yep - I can see it now!! Have a great time!! :)
I can't wait to hear how this goes. So funny. You guys have fun and be careful on the road!
Dang! I thought you took all those pics yourself ;0)
Just drink A LOT and you won't care what the tent is like ;0)
xoxo
Bless your heart!
LOL...My idea of camping is a hotel without a bar;) Those tents do look nice...
You really need your own comedy show, Marlene! I am as serious as I can be! :) Oh, you will LOVE camping (hee hee). Nothing like becoming one with nature! I can't wait to hear all about it...and MORE!
I think that camping is something everyone should experience at once in their life. I just do.
It will be great. Have extra drinks. It sometimes helps.
No... camping is not the same as glamping (glamorous camping).
But you will learn to love your air matress!
Have as much fun as you can. But don't wear yourself out. You have to be fresh for BlogFest!
i love to camp. the hubby and i are going to set up the tent in the back yard so the girls can "camp" this summer
I LOVE camping. As you probably caught on to from my last post.
But I have been camping since I was little.
In the summer, with plenty of bug spray and good food is my favorite way to camp.
You will have a blast. I'm sure.
Good luck!

You've never lived until you've done it in a tent - heehee!!
Tent #1, that's the ticket! Have fun!
I must confess that I have never slept in a tent. We had a 40' motorhome with a queen bed and I called that roughing it. Now I own a campground.....ain't life funny?
Long time ago I decided my idea of camping was Camp Hilton. Now some of the pictures that you found might make me reconsider camping, otherwise where is the nearest Camp Hilton.
I wish you all the best in your camping endevour. Have fun with your friends, that will be the best.
Have a GREAT TIME!!! Give a hug to those crazy ladies for me!
Oh yes, dear. Don't worry about a thing. I'm sure your tent will be every bit as nice as the pictures. Hehehe
I'd sleep in anyone of those tents even though I detest camping... as long as they have a mosquito net!

The Blue Ridge Gal
(HAVE FUN!!)
Eeeks..a tent? Ummmm, I'll just watch from here.
Oh, wow ... I probably should have read this BEFORE you came. I didn't know you were expecting THAT! I could have done you a bit better. LOL!
LOL...I just LUV your idea on the tent idea. Hope you take pics of you in front of the one you stay in :)
Me....I stick with our camper...micowave, air-conditioning, refrig. etc etc :)
ENJOY!!!!!!
hahaha! So did your camping experience meet your expectations?
Oh sweetie. I grew up in the country and camped with my aunt & uncle when I was young, but NO MORE. My idea of roughing it is a hotel that doesn't have free Wifi. My kids dig it - glad my camping aunt is still willing to take them so they can get their fix and I can get my creature comforts!
